Parents & Family Weekend registration will open on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. EST.

Registration Deadline 

Orders must be received by Wednesday, September 30, 2020 for consideration. Most Parents & Family Weekend event tickets sell out within the first day of registration because we are allotted a limited number of tickets for each event and demand is high.

When ordering tickets for any event, be sure to purchase a ticket for your U-M student. We encourage you to attend events with your U-M student; everyone attending ticketed events must have a ticket. Please be advised that if your student is performing at an event, you must have a ticket to attend that event and watch your student. Football tickets purchased through the Parents & Family Weekend program are not in the student section. As a result, if your student has a student section football ticket, you will not be seated with them during the football game. 

Registration Login

Families have the opportunity to set-up their registration account prior to registration to expedite the registration process on September 15. By setting up an account now, families will be able to skip the account set-up step on Registration Day and will be able to login right away to start adding events to their shopping cart. Families who attended Parents & Family Weekend in the past and/or Campus Day may already have an Iris login. Iris login names are the email address you used to create an Iris account previously. If you remember your Iris login and password, you are all set to login on Registration Day (September 15) to purchase tickets for Parents & Family Weekend events. If you do not remember your Iris password, please follow the directions for password recovery on this link.  

Please make note of your Iris login and password. You do not want password recovery to hold you back on Registration Day.

On Registration Day (September 15), you will start registration by clicking on the Registration link at the top of this page; the Registration link will be posted at 12 p.m. EST on September 15. Please do not log in to your Iris account early. If you are logged in before noon on September 15, you will not see the Registration link when it goes live nor will it appear on your Iris account.

Once you have created an Iris account or signed into your existing Iris account, that is it!  Your work is done until Registration Day September 15th at 12 p.m. You do not need to enter a code.  Just sign out and wait until Registration Day to click the link which will be posted at the top of this page.


You will receive an email acknowledging your online registration within 48 hours of registering. An official detailed confirmation of your ticket purchases will follow via email. Please print the official confirmation page for your records. If you do not receive an official confirmation within 5 business days, please email Please indicate you are registering for Parents & Family Weekend in all correspondence.

Ticket Pick-Up

For security and logistical reasons, tickets purchased through the Parents & Family Weekend registration will not be sent through the mail. Tickets must be picked up at Parents & Family Weekend Check-In in the Michigan Union (530 S. State St.) on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. 

We strongly recommend you check-in for Parents & Family Weekend on Friday so you can participate in as many activities and events as possible. The majority of the free events take place on Friday. If you can’t come to check-in, your student may check in for you and can pick up your tickets by presenting their student ID.  Souvenir items purchased through registration are not allowed in the football game, thus are only eligible for pick-up at Friday check-in. 

In the event of an emergency, if you or your student are unable to pick up your tickets on Friday, you may pick up your tickets at the Parents & Family Weekend Tailgate on Saturday, November 7 three hours prior to kickoff.  Any unclaimed football tickets will be taken to the Athletic Department’s Will Call Window, located at the Crisler Center, ninety minutes prior to kickoff. All other tickets will be forfeited.  

Non-Refundable Registration Fee 

There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee for Parents & Family Weekend. Parents & Family Weekend is a self-funded event. The registration fee covers the cost of overhead expenses including publications, postage, registration materials, staff, room and equipment rentals, technology fees, and the non-ticketed events and activities offered during the weekend. Event fees are kept to a minimum and are designed to cover the cost of each event. 

Football tickets ordered through the Parents & Family Weekend registration form are a part of the Parents & Family Weekend program. As a result, you will be charged the $50 registration fee when requesting football tickets through the Parents & Family Weekend program.


If you wish to cancel your entire Parents & Family Weekend registration, we must receive written confirmation of all cancellations by Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Those families who cancel before Wednesday, October 14 will receive a refund for tickets purchased through the Parents & Family Weekend online registration form, less the $50 non-refundable registration fee, 2-3 weeks after the request is received. Refunds will not be issued after October 14 for ANY reason. Cancellation requests should be sent by email to Cancellation requests cannot be made by phone. Note: Cancellations for tickets purchased directly through ticket vendors or organizations and not purchased through the Parents & Family Weekend online registration form cannot be refunded by the Parents & Family Weekend program. Contact the individual organizations regarding their refund policy.  

Registration Changes

Once you have submitted your registration, we are unable to accommodate changes. Please be sure to carefully read through the “Events” page of the website prior to registering for Parents & Family Weekend, so that you know which events you wish to purchase tickets for. Everyone attending a ticketed event must have a ticket, so be sure to purchase a ticket for your U-M student when you place your online order, if you would like them to attend a particular event with you.

At Parents & Family Weekend Check-In, there will be a posting board for families who wish to buy or sell tickets. We encourage you to use this posting board if you wish to purchase or sell any of your Parents & Family Weekend event tickets. 

In addition, if there are tickets remaining for any events, we will sell them at Parents & Family Weekend Check-In. However, most events typically sell out, so please do not plan on being able to purchase tickets at the last minute. 

Football Ticket Information

Parents & Family Weekend is allotted a very limited number of football tickets from Athletics.  Parents & Family Weekend does not have the capacity to offer football tickets to all Michigan families interested in attending the game during Parents & Family Weekend.  If attending the football game is a priority for your family, we strongly encourage you to consider purchasing football tickets elsewhere. While football tickets are available for purchase through Parents & Family Weekend, football tickets typically sell out in minutes once registration opens.  Tickets can be purchased directly through Athletics starting (normally) in June through or you may want to consider third party websites like StubHub. Though it has over 100,000 seats, Michigan Stadium routinely sells out. This ticket shortage affects the entire University of Michigan community, not just parents and families. 

If you only wish to attend Parents & Family Weekend if football tickets are available, we encourage you to consider waiting to make travel arrangements as football tickets offered through Parents & Family Weekend typically sell out in minutes. The University is not responsible for the costs of travel arrangements. 

Football tickets ordered through the Parents & Family Weekend registration form are a part of the Parents & Family Weekend program. As a result, you will be charged the $50 registration fee when requesting football tickets through the Parents & Family Weekend program. The registration fee covers the additional costs of the program, including overhead expenses and the non-ticketed activities offered during the weekend. 

Parents & Family Weekend has a limited quantity of football tickets and can only offer four tickets per family. (Divorced families are considered two separate families.) There are NO exceptions.  If you need more than four tickets for your family or you only wish to attend the football game and do not wish to participate in other Parents & Family Weekend activities, you should contact the Athletic Ticket Office at (734) 764-0247 or online at regarding football ticket availability. 

Football tickets purchased through the Parents & Family Weekend program are not in the student section. As a result, if your student has a ticket in the student section, you will not be seated with them during the football game if you purchase football tickets through Parents & Family Weekend. If you would like your student to sit with you during the game, you should purchase a ticket for them as well.

If you are planning to attend the football game, make sure to read through the list of prohibited items at Michigan Stadium ( prior to Parents & Family Weekend. Prohibited items include purses and bags of any size.
